FCMAT Teleconferencing Project Update
Best wishes for a great New Year!
As you recall, in our last update (12/2/97) we told you that the downlink installation crew had not performed according to contract, and consequently, we asked COMSAT RSI to remove them from the project.
I was hoping that I would be able to get an update to you as you start the new year, that would clearly outline a plan to move the FCMAT Teleconferencing Project forward in an expeditious manner. Unfortunately, that is not the case. However, the good news is that I believe that we are close.
We (administrators, engineers, contract specialists, attorneys, etc.) have been in almost daily contact with COMSAT RSI in an effort to resolve our contract differences and develop consensus on how to complete the project. It is our hope that we will be able to continue to work with COMSAT RSI to see things through to completion. However, if this is not possible, we will look elsewhere.
We anticipate knowing within the next few days whether or not COMSAT RSI will be able to complete the Teleconferencing Project. As soon as this is determined, I will get another update communication to you. If you have any questions regarding these matters, please give me a call at 805-636-4614.
