SUBJECT:

FCMAT Teleconferencing Project Update

It's time for another communication to bring you up to date regarding the progress on the FCMAT Teleconferencing Project.

Since our last update, we have completed the installation at the Los Angeles COE which was a roof mount and also served as a demonstration and test site. Because of unfavorable weather, the ground mount demonstration and test site at the Santa Barbara COE had to be delayed.

It was COMSAT RSI's intent to reschedule installations on a South to North basis for weather and geographical convenience. However, a number of delays in obtaining permits have surfaced. Consequently, in an effort to keep the installations moving forward, COE's that either do not require a permit or have a permit in place are being scheduled.

We are waiting for the weather to clear so we can put specific dates to the schedule below. When that occurs, you will be notified. Currently, the sequence of upcoming installations is as follows:

 1. Imperial COE

 4. San Mateo COE

 7. San Joaquin COE

 2. Santa Barbara COE

 5. San Benito COE

 8. Sonoma COE

 3. Riverside COE

 6. Mariposa COE

 9. Calaveras COE

The first thirty (30) DH dishes have been picked up. A schedule for the pick up of the remaining DH dishes has not been generated yet. As soon as we receive the schedule, we will send it out to you.

If you are a COE using a pole mount, and you haven't already done so, please notify us as soon as you have your engineer sign off and your mount is ready for dish installation and hook up. KCSOS will be working with all pole mounts.

Please give us a call if you are one of the COEs that had their downlink system installed by COM-CRAFT and are currently using the system for scheduled broadcasts. We will try to coordinate your reinstall schedule so that you will have a minimum of down time.

As part of this communication, we are including a copy of our "TELECONFERENCING PROJECT - California County Office of Education Status" sheet. This includes the current information that we have regarding your downlink installation. Please review this information and if you find that it is not accurate or if you have any questions, give me a call at 805-636-4614.
