Teleconferencing Project Correspondence July 9, 1997
Dear Superintendent:
I hope that you are having a chance to enjoy the summer and are getting in some rest and relaxation.
We are in the process of planning for FCMAT's inaugural teleconferencing broadcast and would like to ask for your assistance. We need to identify and communicate with an on-site member of your staff that would serve as a coordinator for this initial broadcast.
The inaugural broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday, September 16, 1997, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Jeannette Hurst from our office will be calling the current "contact" person in your office for the FCMAT Teleconferencing Project to secure a meeting/conference room for the broadcast.
We would appreciate your identifying a second person from your staff to help coordinate in the following manner:
1. Serve as our contact person in your office for this inaugural broadcast
2. Work with your current "contact" person
3. Make sure that your conference room is scheduled and ready for the broadcast
4. Receive the original copy of the handout materials and make copies for those attending the broadcast
5. Make provisions for refreshments - if that is what you would like to do
6. Greet those attending the teleconference and provide background information for the teleconference presentation
7. Provide for and facilitate the telephone/e-mail interactivity feature of the broadcast
8. Assist with publicizing the event within your office and with the school districts in your county
If you have any questions regarding this request, please give me a call at (805) 636-4692. Otherwise, would you please call, fax (805) 636-4647, or e-mail (biluehe@zeus.kern.org) the name, phone number, e-mail address and fax number of the person that you have selected to assist us with this important endeavor.
Let me thank you in advance for your help with FCMAT's inaugural broadcast planning. It is our hope that this broadcast will serve as the beginning of a new arena for information sharing for educators in our State.
Sincerely,
Bill Luehe, Ed. D.
