FCMAT Teleconferencing Project Update and Inaugural Broadcast Information
FCMAT Teleconferencing ProjectWe are continuing to make good progress on the completion of the COE downlink installations across the state. COMSAT RSI and the various installation subcontractors (there are now five (5) subcontractors in the field) have committed to have all installations completed by the end of September. If your site is one that is still not completed, please do all that you can to assist the installers so that they can complete your installation by the designated date.
FCMAT Inaugural Broadcast
Once again, the Teleconferencing Project Inaugural Broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 1998, at 3:00 to 4:15 p.m
You will find sample copies of the invitation letter to district superintendents, and the media release that we discussed in our last "Update" communication. We hope that these are helpful.
As we mentioned previously, part of the broadcast will be interactive with viewers invited to call in specific questions which will be presented to the panel members, moderated by Ken Hall. The following numbers may be used by viewers:

For technical questions regarding your downlink equipment or quality of receptivity, call 805-636- 4881 at any time.
The downlink equipment test date is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 1998, at 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. using the GE-3 satellite, KU band, Channel 19, frequency 12080 horizontal. Please plan to participate in this test of your equipment receptivity. If your receptivity is good, please e-mail us at the address above. If you have problems, call 805-636-4881 for help. In addition, on broadcast day (10/13/98) you will tune your dish to the GE-3 satellite; using the same channel beginning at 2:00 p.m. (The broadcast starts at 3:00 p.m).
As we mentioned previously, if you will not be able to participate in the FCMAT Teleconferencing Project Inaugural Broadcast, for what ever reason, please make provisions to partner with an adjoining COE so that board members, staff, parents, other interested parties and the media from your county may participate. If this is the case, please call me as soon as possible at the number listed below.
