Certificate Programs in School Business Administration

This section of the catalog lists certificate programs in school business management. Entries are organized alphabetically by offering institutions in the north and south of the state. For each program a list of course offerings is provided. At most institutions it is possible to take individual courses without committing oneself to the entire program. Many institutions are also interested in running custom classes and programs for districts or county offices that can recruit sufficient numbers of students and provide facilities.

Certificate in School Finance Management or School Personnel Management

The Certificate in School Finance Management is designed for persons who are responsible for the management of finances and non-instructional services necessary for the orderly operation of a school system.

The Certificate in School Personnel Management is designed for persons who specialize in personnel management and related functions in school systems.

Each Certificate Program consists of five courses (15 units) plus three units earned by attending pre-approved workshops or seminars offered by CASBO, ACSA, or School Services of California

This 26-unit certificate program provides a balance of theory and practice for school personnel and others who would like to enter the field of school business management. It focuses on improving knowledge and skills in school business and finance, as well as providing unique opportunities for networking.
