I Search

The I Search is a method of teaching that first asks what the students want to know. After a list has been made and posted in the classroom then the research begins! Students are given 3 x 5 cards to use when they find an answer to one of the questions. They can clip their 3 x 5 card containing their answer and their name to this long list of questions. It is possible that some of the questions will not be answered during the year, but perhaps they will not be forgotten and an answer will show up one day with a former student. I got the idea for the I Search from Chris Doyle at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools.

(This is an I Search that I did with my class.)
