Majordomo's Home This nice home belonged to the Ranch superintendent, the majordomo. It is probably older than the assistant superintendent's home in the former picture because it was made from adobe bricks. Adobe did not hold up well in earthquakes, so they put up some wood braces that you can see between the two windows. The man and woman are wearing formal clothes. Notice the girl in the middle who is wearing an apron, she is probably someone hired to help cook and clean the home. The Ranch superintendent could afford to hire someone to help his wife. Notice the working dogs out in front of their home.
