Old Headquarter's Kitchen This is the back of the building and shows the kitchen and probably the common dining area. A ranch like Tejon would furnish its workers with living quarters and meals. The ranch workers and their families lived together because they could not live in Bakersfield and drive to work each day. The company took care of their employees. Notice the cooks and the bell used to call people to meals. The bell is now in the lobby of the current headquarters at the top of the Grapevine and across from Fort Tejon.
